How it works

No drawing skills needed. You type in measurements; the tool does the drawing and finds the routes.

  1. Walk the outside walls

Enter each outside wall’s length and direction, or start from a simple rectangle.

  2. Drag in the rooms

Drop bedrooms, baths, the kitchen, and stairs into place and type their sizes. They snap together.

  3. Add doors, windows, and alarms

The tool draws each bedroom’s route to the front door and its second way out through a window or door.

  4. Print and post

Download a letter-size PDF. Multi-story homes, condos, and apartments with fire escapes are all handled.

Questions

What do I need to get started?

A tape measure and about 30 minutes. Measure each outside wall and each room wall to wall. Inches matter less than getting every room and door in the right place.

Will my town or inspector accept it?

The kit is built around what fire codes and vacation rental programs commonly ask for: a posted floor diagram with exits, a map in each bedroom, and two ways out. Rules vary, so check your local requirements. The plan helps you prepare; it isn’t an approval.

Does it work for two-story homes, condos, and apartments?

Yes. Add each floor and the stairs between them. Upper-floor windows can lead to a balcony, a fire escape, outside stairs, or a fire department ladder rescue, and the plan shows each one.

Do I need an account?

Not to draw or print the free plan; it saves in your browser. Sign in with your email to keep plans on any device or to buy the kit. There’s no password; we email you a link.

Is the $99 a subscription?

No. It’s a one-time payment per property. Change the plan and reprint whenever you need to.
